You yell for 5 minutes, but you get no reply. Once you stop, you notice that there is a new sound though: a guttural groan seems to be coming from somewhere outside of your admittedly limited range of vision. Is it a dog? It certainly doesn't sound human. It's strange, but just hearing it makes the hair on your arms stand up.
